If you’re heading away with the family in the upcoming summer holidays, you may be wondering how you’re going to keep everyone’s clothes clean. The team at ACE has put together some top tips for keeping on top of your laundry while you’re away…
When you’re living out of a suitcase, laundry bags are a great way of keeping your dirty clothes separate from your clean ones – and we love this world map printed one for travelling! Pop all your dirty clothes in a laundry bag and easily transport them to the local laundromat whilst you’re away, or keep them all together for going on the washing pile when you return home.
If you’re travelling light, you don’t want to be carrying around whole bottles of laundry detergent and stain remover. Grab some travel bottles and fill them with your go-to detergent and stain remover. Fill one of the travel bottles with ACE for Colours, so that you know you’ll be prepared for any stain while you’re away.
Sinks aren’t only useful for the obvious reasons, they’re also great for washing clothing items in. Fill the sink with warm water and scrub clothes with detergent – particularly concentrating on areas like the armpits. Let all the clothes rest in the water for a few minutes before rinsing and draining. Roll each item in a towel to remove excess water and leave to dry completely. If you’re travelling in a humid country, you may find that clothes don’t dry properly when left outside. In these situations it’s best to dry clothes in a room with A/C or a fan. If you’re backpacking, then this product is a must have. Pop your clothes in, add water and scrub for a couple of minutes before following the same drying process mentioned previously.
Most hotels will have an iron in the room, but this can take time to set up and sometimes a couple of wrinkles just need a quick fix. If you have taken hair straighteners with you, use these to remove any creases on your clothes by running over the problem area as you would with your hair. If you’re constantly on the go, this quick-to-do tip is great for when you’re at home too!
