Do your little ones finish for summer soon? Six weeks can be a long time to fill, and whether you spend the time in the garden, going away or having days out with the kids, it’s easy to run out of things to do. As the birthplace of playwright William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a great place to visit with the family – especially if the kids are studying his plays in school! Explore his history by visiting the whole range of Shakespeare attractions – including the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, where plays are performed regularly.
If you’re not interested in the thespian side of this great city, there are plenty of other things to see and do to fill a weekend away – take a stroll through the many gardens, marvel at the contraptions in the Mechanical Art and Design Museum, or visit The Magic Alley store and see what spells, broomsticks and dragon’s eggs you can find! For a day out, River Dart Country Park has activities to suit all ages. Test your nerves by completing the high-rope course, or pack your swimsuits for a paddle in the lake!
