Christmas leftovers: Recipes to use up every bit of festive flavour

12/12/2018 - ACE Recipes

Every year we stress about whether there will be enough food to feed everyone on Christmas Day, and every year we end up with enough leftovers to feed the family twice! From the roast potatoes to the cheese board, ACE has put together a list of some great recipes to use up all of your leftovers. Be sure to keep the festive memories – without keeping the stains created over Christmas – with the help of ACE.

A Festive Piece of Pie

After spending hours in the kitchen on Christmas Day, we know the last thing you are probably going to want to do is take up most of Boxing Day the same way. This turkey, roast potato, sausage and stuffing pie from BBC Good Food will use up any leftovers and can be prepared in just ten minutes – what more could you want? Simply chuck all the leftovers into a dish with the sauce (you will need to make that bit!), scatter with cheese and pop it into the oven while you spend time with the family!

Dinner Turned Breakfast

We have all heard about having breakfast for dinner, but what about dinner for breakfast? Use up any left-over roasties and make your way through the Christmas ham with these delicious gammon and roast potato hash browns from Waitrose. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix with a beaten egg. Scrunch everything together firmly, separate into four patties and dinner turned breakfast is ready to be fried and served!

Spice Up Your Food

If you fancy steering away from the traditional festive food then why not try these spicy turkey enchiladas from Delicious Magazine? This recipe is easy-to-make for the masses, doesn’t take long to prepare and will use up all of your left-over turkey – the perfect combination!

A Cheesy Classic

All the Christmas day cheese is bound to stink out your fridge, so you definitely won’t want it sat around for longer than necessary! Once the celebrations are over, use any remaining cheese to make this comforting classic from BBC Good Food. All you need to do for this ten minute mac ‘n’ cheese is prepare the cheese sauce according to the recipe, mix it in with cooked pasta, tip in a baking dish, add some extra cheese and bake – simple!
